Sean Spicer finally got to meet the pope, after he was famously blocked from doing so by his former boss, President Donald Trump.
The former White House press secretary traveled this week to Italy with lawmakers and political figures from around the world for a meeting of the International Catholic Legislators Network, reported America Magazine.
Spicer, a Catholic, had expressed a desire to meet Pope Francis when he accompanied Trump on an international trip earlier this year, but he was left off the list of U.S. officials who traveled to the Vatican.
But a photo posted on the Vatican Radio Facebook page shows Spicer, who resigned July 21 from the White House, using his cell phone to take a photo of the pope during his meeting with the Catholic group.
Other images posted by the Vatican's photo service show Spicer got to personally meet Pope Francis during the gathering.
