The fight over Confederate monuments has come to Virginia Beach, Virginia where a rally is underway. In efforts to give people a place to speak out, local police set up a whiteboard where people could write their feelings about the monument.
One Trump supporter (identified by his white Trump t-shirt) cut through the crowd to approach the whiteboard, according to Virginia Beach city government reporter Alissa Skelton. He wrote, "Do your research," but had to turn to a reporter to ask how to spell research.
The Progressive Democrats there for Thursday's afternoon rally erased the comment by the man. He then returned and tried to write on the board again.
"It ain't got nothing to do with me!" he shouted to the crowd and reporters. "It's got something to do with right and wrong."
Some of those in attendance wrote the names of their ancestors who fought in the civil war and one post included statistics on the number of African American men who fought and died for the Union during the war.
At one point the rally organizers attempted to hold a mock slave auction during the protest.
