The entire View panel jumped all over White House cabinet members for using private jets and billing the government for them during Friday's broadcast.
Addressing the growing scandal over President Donald Trump's Cabinet members running up enormous tabs on private and military planes to jaunt across the country and overseas, Joy Behar picked on Trump for flying down to Mar-a-Lago each weekend.
"Tom Price, Ryan Zinke, Steve Mnuchin have been chartering planes like it's an Uber," Behar began. "What do you think about that?" she asked the panel.
"Tom Price, himself, in 2009 and 2010 had said -- because he served 12 years in the house before this position -- he said, we need to cut down on the private jets to zero jets , we got it from eight to four and four to zero. He was saying this is fiscal responsibility run amok right now in Congress," panelist Sara Haines explained. "The point is, he recognized then these flights are not necessary. He took a $25,000 trip from D.C. to Philly recently, when he could have just gone first class or something in a commercial that would have cost $725."
"He could have taken the Amtrak like everybody else does," Sunny Hostin suggested, pointing out that when she was a prosecutor she traveled on it often and saw Senators John Kerry and Joe Biden riding.
"We talk about the budget cuts and where we can't find money from health care to disaster relief funds," Haines replied. "You have people taking trips for six figures. Tom Price said 'no one will pay a dime for my ticket,' but that's about 50 grand of a six-figure flight!"
"I think there is a small explanation there," Paula Farris attempted to explain."You want secure communications if you're doing official government business on board, but I think, in this case, Tom Price could lose his job"
"Good," Behar quipped. "Nobody wants it."
"President Trump was asked if Tom Price could be fired over this and he said, 'we'll see.' This is not an endorsement," Farris continued.
Behar then reminded the panel of Trump's near weekly visits to Florida to stay at his private resort, saying, "Trump spends plenty of money flying back and forth to Mar-a-Lago, he's no one to talk," as the audience applauded.
