Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team has met with Christopher Steele, the former British spy behind the infamous dossier alleging Donald Trump’s campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 presidential election, CNN reports.
The news comes after reports the salacious dossier—the contents of which have long been refuted by members of Trump’s team—is being investigated as part of Mueller’s probe into Russian inference.
According to CNN, Congressional investigators and Mueller's team are looking into allegations levied in the dossier, and in fact may be using it as a “roadmap” in their probes. In January 2017, former DNI James Clapper said the intelligence community has yet to make “any judgment that the information in this document is reliable."
