Flashback of Sarah Sanders from 2016 now applies to Trump: 'When you're attacking the FBI, you're losing'
Deputy White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders talks on NBC's 'Today' (Screen cap).

President Donald Trump spent the Christmas holiday raging about the FBI invesitgation into Russia's interference in the U.S. election. But the president could benefit from a warning doled out to the Clinton campaign in 2016 by his now-White House press secretary, who said that people who attack the FBI are "losing."

In a Twitter tirade that lasted from Christmas Eve through Christmas Day, Trump lashed out at members of the FBI who have connections to the Russia investigation.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Sanders ripped the Clinton campaign for complaining about how former FBI Director James Comey handled the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the use of a private email server.

In a tweet that sounds like it could have been directed at the president's current remarks, Sanders wrote that "you're losing" if you are attacking the FBI.

"When you're attacking FBI agents because you're under criminal investigation, you're losing," the tweet said.
