A Florida man was taken into custody last week for destroying a bank ATM because it dispensed too much cash when he attempted to make a withdrawal.

According to the Palm Beach Post, Michael J. Oleksik, 23, caused $5,000 worth of damage to the touchscreen on the ATM at a Wells Fargo branch in Cocoa, Florida.

Police state Olesik can be seen on surveillance video pummeling the machine as it continued to spit out money.

According to authorities, after Olesik hammered on the machine he called the bank and apologized, saying he was "angry the ATM was giving him too much money and he did not know what to do," and that it was causing him to be late to work.

Despite the apology, Well Fargo pressed charges against the bank customer who was arrested and booked into Brevard County Jail on a charge of criminal mischief.
