Andy Cohen had huge shoes to fill when it came to years of a comedian making CNN host Anderson Cooper giggle. In wake of Kathy Griffin's downfall, the network was force to look for other options. While ringing in 2017, CNN host Don Lemon got a little tipsy, went for an ear piercing and shared his heart with Brooke Baldwin over some tequila shots.
This year seemed to tumble before it even got started. While the world loves to see habitual professional Anderson Cooper lose his cool or break into hysterics, Cohen is from a different world. According to one user, Cohen was quick to promote himself and his programming of the Housewives on Bravo, a network that once boasted reruns of "The West Wing" along with shows like "Inside the Actor's Studio" and birthed "Project Runway."
Ahead of the special, the two hosts did promotional appearances, including one Q&A in which Cooper revealed the two were once set up on a blind date. When they were trying to decide where to go, Cohen broke Cooper's cardinal rule by asking about his mother Gloria Vanderbilt.
Other than a particularly amusing photo of the normally stoic Wolf Blitzer in a party hat, the internet wasn't interested in more.
