Pastor says Trump's denials are 'precisely what racists do': 'It takes an a**hole to know what a sh*thole is'
Stephanie Ruhle speaks to Mark Thompson (MSNBC/screen grab)

Pastor Mark Thompson told MSNBC on Tuesday that evidence is mounting to show that President Donald Trump is a racist.

During a panel discussion on MSNBC, host Stephanie Ruhle noted that Trump had recently declared himself "the least racist person" after he reportedly used "shithole" or a similar term to describe African countries.

"We've heard that before," Thompson explained. "We know that's not true. Who even talks that way? I'm beginning to think [he is racist]."

"Trump plays those [racial] cards and it may be even to sabotage this whole [immigration] deal," he added. "Because he's sending a message to that base, to his base that this is what I really think about the people we're discussing, working out a deal for, providing DACA for and what have you."

According to Thompson, Trump's actions are "precisely what racists do."

"Not to mention the fact, it takes an A-hole to know what a S-hole is," the pastor pointed out.

"What is the definition of an S-hole country?" Thompson asked Ruhle. "Does it contain people who are tired or poor or huddled masses yearning to breathe free? Because if that's what he means, that's the same thing everyone wants. A better life. That's what the Statue of Liberty cries out."
