President Donald Trump has found a novel way to raise money for his reelection campaign: by offering to display the names of donors during a live stream of his first State of the Union address.
As The Washington Post reported Monday, the donation page on Trump's website allows donors to contribute between $35 and $2,700 — "the maximum amount allowed per election."
"Please make a special State of the Union contribution to have your name broadcast on the Official Donald J. Trump for President livestream," reads the donation page.
The existence of the donation request appears to have first been publicized by ProPublica's Derek Willis when he tweeted a text message version of the page's ask.
