House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) on Tuesday blew past CNN’s Manu Raju as the reporter asked whether the anti-FBI memo drafted by his staffer was done in concert with the White House.
“Democracy dies in darkness, my friend,” Nunes said, conflating CNN with the Washington Post. “Get to work.”
This isn’t the first time Nunes has refused to say whether he worked with Donald Trump’s administration when crafting a memo largely viewed as cover for the White Hosue. Last week, Nunes declined tell fellow members of the House Intelligence Committee whether he worked with the president’s staff.
As the Daily Beast reported, Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL) asked Nunes point-blank if he or his staffers worked with the administration.
“I’m not answering,” Nunes replied.
