“Late Night” host Seth Meyers on Monday offered a blunt assessment of Donald Trump’s time (so far!) in the White House.
“Crazy sh*t happens so fast in this presidency sometimes I feel like I’m binge-watching it,” Meyers said.
The host began his “Closer Look” segment by recounting Trump’s alleged affair with Stormy Daniels, noting the president’s lawyers are suing the adult film star for $20 million, claiming she breached a hush agreement with the president.
“So Trump’s argument is, ‘I had nothing to do with that high agreement with the porn star, and to prove it, I’m suing the porn star for violating the high agreement I don’t have with her,’” Meyers said.
Meyers later detailed the Trump administration’s firing of former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe, who was an “object of paranoid fixation” for the president. According to reports, special counsel Robert Mueller has memos McCabe took of his interactions with Trump—similar to those kept by former FBI director James Comey.
“Trump’s such an idiot—he keeps firing people who take meticulous notes,” Meyers joked.
Explaining that Trump took to Twitter over the weekend to ask if he can call McCabe and Comey’s notes “fake memos,” Meyers replied, “sure bro, you’re the president, you can call it whatever you want.” The host then jotted down a list of things Trump can call “fake” if he so chooses—“fake memos,” “fake trial” and “fake jail.”
