In a interview taken on the street with former child star Melissa Gilbert, the actress who once starred in "Little House on the Prairie," called Education Secretary Betsy DeVos a "moron."
Gilbert who was getting into a car was asked by a TMZ correspondent how she felt about DeVos following the Trump appointee's disastrous interview with 60 Minutes that was aired last weekend.
After correcting the reporter's pronunciation of DeVos's name, Gilbert responded to a question shouted to her outside NBC headquarters in New York City about the embattled education secretary with "I think she's a moron."
Pressed by what should happen to DeVos, who didn't seem to have a basic grasp of the what schools are for, Gilbert added " She needs to be removed as quickly as possible."
Gilbert, who starred in the long-running television show that espoused down-home values, went on to say that she has friends who are teachers and that she is appalled by DeVos and her pronouncements on schools and educating children.
