2016's infamous swing-voter-for-Trump Ken Bone resurfaced Thursday evening when he claimed his son was suspended from school for a photo of him doing target practice with what appears to be an assault rifle. Right-wing Twitter soon picked up on the claim — and ran with it.
Bone initially posted the photo earlier this week in response to Kyle Kashuv, a conservative Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student, claimed he was interrogated by police for shooting an AR-15 at a gun range.
"Here's a pic of my son learning to shoot safely under my supervision," Bone tweeted to Kashuv. "Maybe those security guys want to talk to him."
On Thursday, Bone posted the photo again, this time saying it led to his son's suspension.
"Remember this photo from a few days ago?" he tweeted. "Well, a school administrator saw it and now my son is suspended from school pending a police investigation."
Almost immediately after the tweet was posted, National Rifle Association spokeswoman Dana Loesch retweeted it, adding her own commentary for good measure.
"Seriously?" she posted along with her retweet.
NRATV's Cam Edwards soon followed suit by falsely insisting there was "no problem" when students walked out of classes to protest gun violence and suggesting there's a double standard in the treatment of Bone's son.
