President Donald Trump doubled down Monday morning on a misleading weekend tweet about immigration that was based on a Fox News report.

The president threatened to blow up any bipartisan deal on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals after watching a "Fox & Friends" segment, and he even repeated the network's claims about "caravans" off immigrants arriving in the U.S.

Trump repeated the claim in a follow-up tweet, after other cable TV networks spent time knocking down the inaccurate claim.

"Mexico has the absolute power not to let these large 'Caravans' of people enter their country," Trump tweeted. "They must stop them at their Northern Border, which they can do because their border laws work, not allow them to pass through into our country, which has no effective border laws....."
