In the past few weeks, media analysts have wondered why Rudy Giuliani keeps going on media blitzes on cable news and spouting crazy and contradictory statements.
Gwenda Blair, the author of The Trumps: Three Generations of Builders and a President, has a theory.
Appearing on CNN's Newsroom with Brooke Baldwin, Blair pointed out that every time Giuliani grabs negative media coverage, he diverts attention from President Trump.
"Giuliani is a distraction-machine," she says.
Also, he's still associated with strong leadership during the 9/11 attacks with key Trump supporters. That makes Giuliani a key factor in the President's re-election plans, Blair says.
