President Donald Trump will have an awkward moment when he realized he's been singing the praises of menstruation.
"Late Show" host Stephen Colbert cited Trump's embarrassing tweets saying that Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY) lost because he wasn't nice enough to Trump. The woman he lost to, however, is not a Trump supporter. Far from it. In fact she's a Democratic Socialist who supports the abolition of ICE, free college for everyone and healthcare for all.
But the real humor came from the accidental use of a euphemism Trump probably wants nothing to do with.
"Also, pretty weird that Trump is celebrating 'Surfing the Red Wave,' because I've been told by my writer Ariel that it's slang for menstruation," Colbert said, calling out a lady-writer.
"Yes, Stephen, and the metaphor is fitting because I think we can all agree these are heavy days," she said. "And sometimes, sometimes you have to go with the flow. As Americans, we must synch up! And shed the wall! Shed the wall! Shed the wall!"
He also celebrated the passage of medical marijuana in Oklahoma. He noted that it is proof that there is neither a red America nor a blue America, but "there's only a green America with a towel under the door. And on the other side of that door? Jeff Sessions is calling the cops. But if the rest of us can harness this pot-induced political harmony, we can get through anything, even a 20-minute Phish guitar solo."
He then proceeded to sing another version of the song Oklahoma, which he renamed Toke-la-homa.
