Trump tells Fox News he wants Americans to obey him like North Koreans obey Kim Jong-un

President Donald Trump on Friday told Fox News that he wants American citizens to show him the same reverence that North Koreans show leader Kim Jong-un.

During a surprise interview with “Fox & Friends” on Friday, Trump said he was impressed by the respect that Kim commanded from his people.

“He’s the head of the country — and he’s the strong head, don’t let anyone think anything different,” Trump said during the interview. “He speaks and his people sit up in attention. I want my people to do the same.”

Kim Jong-un runs a totalitarian dictatorship in which people face imprisonment or execution if they criticize him. According to human rights watchdog Amnesty International, North Korea has imprisoned an estimated 120,000 people based on political grounds across four separate camps dedicated to imprisoning political dissidents.

The organization further says that people living in these camps are “subjected to forced labor as well as torture and other ill-treatment.”

Despite this, the president has praised Kim for being a “very tough” leader who “loves” the people of his country.

When asked by Doocy why he was heaping praise upon Kim despite his country’s atrocious human rights record, Trump replied, “I don’t want to see a nuclear weapon destroy you and your family.”

‘Are you done?’ The View audience goes wild as Whoopi Goldberg cuts off Alan Dershowitz during combative interview

"The View" host Whoopi Goldberg clashed with Alan Dershowitz after he refused to move on from an argument and let the other co-hosts ask questions.

The Harvard Law professor emeritus appeared Wednesday on the daily talk show after defending President Donald Trump from his impeachment trial, where he argued that Democrats had not proven he broke any laws -- which he defined was the standard for conviction by the Senate.

"I'm not arguing about witnesses," Dershowitz said. "What I'm saying is, the charge of obstruction of Congress and abuse of power are not within the constitutional terms high crimes and misdemeanors. The framers rejected terms just like that. They rejected maladministration as a potential term and maladministration is virtually the same as abuse of power."

‘It’s pretty much over’: Ex-RNC chief Michael Steele says ruse to call witnesses is ‘head fake’ by McConnell

Former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele on Wednesday said that the Senate trial of President Donald Trump is "over" for all practical purposes.

Steele shot down reporting that House Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) does not have the votes to prevent witnesses from being called in the impeachment trial.

"At the end of the day, there will be no more witnesses added to this conversation," Steele told an MSNBC panel. "This is pretty much over. I mean, I think we just need to wrap our heads around that and think about the longer game to come."

Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows tutoring GOP senators on what to ask in Q&A phase of impeachment trial: report

Congressmen Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Mark Meadows (R-NC), members of President Donald Trump's impeachment defense team, are reportedly coaching Republican senators ahead of the next portion of the Senate trial.

On Wednesday, the trial is expected to head into the question and answer phase. According CNN's Lauren Fox, Jordan and Meadows are helping to craft the questions that Republican senators will ask.

"Conservatives are starting to have a role in how conservative senators ask their questions," Fox explained. "There have been a couple of meetings between Mark Meadows and Jim Jordan, who are on the president's defense team, telling senators essentially, this is how you should go about the Q&A period."
