United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May on Wednesday slammed President Donald Trump's policy of separating immigrant children from their parents.
"The pictures of children held in cages are deeply disturbing," May said, via CNN's Jeff Zelany. "This is wrong. This is not something we agree with, this is not the UK’s approach."
May, the leader of the U.K.'s Conservative Party, has occasionally criticized Trump and his policies, even as she's worked to maintain her country's steadfast alliance with the United States.
Trump is scheduled to go to the U.K. for a state visit this year, his first trip to one of America's strongest traditional allies. Trump reportedly shocked U.K. officials when he asked May to ensure he won't face mass protests during his visit to her country.
