Ex-GOP lawmaker Joe Walsh whines Sacha Baron Cohen punked him into saying 'stupid things' during interview

Tea Party activist Joe Walsh (R-IL), who served a single term in Congress, complained on Saturday about Sacha Baron Cohen making Republicans look stupid by getting them to talk about their values by luring them into mock interviews.

During a Saturday interview with CNN personality Michael Smerconish, Walsh admitted that the comedian is a "funny guy" by getting people to "say stupid things."

Cohen's new show, premiering Sunday on Showtime, has been hyped for punking conservatives like Dick Cheney, who autographed a "waterboarding kit" the comedian presented.

"It's pretty clear that Sasha Baron Cohen wanted me to say something crazy about guns, like, 'in America, we ought to arm pre-school kids,'" Walsh argued.

Onetime Alaska governor Sarah Palin also lashed out for being "duped" by the Cohen.

While expecting himself to come off as "stupid" in the new television show, Walsh admitted that "I will probably laugh at myself."
