Mike Huckabee mocks Dan Coats' apology with Jeanine Pirro on Fox News: 'I want to know what caliber gun was being held to his head'

On Saturday, National Intelligence Director Dan Coats issued a statement attempting to distance himself from his comments about Donald Trump's decisions to invite Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to Washington, D.C. for a second summit.

Coats' comments caused much consternation within the White House, with West Wing staff reportedly feeling angry and demoralized.

It does not appear that Trumpworld is ready to forgive and forget.

On Saturday night, Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro invited Mike Huckabee onto her show. The former Arkansas governor is, of course, the father of the White House's spokesperson, Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

The elder Huckabee openly mocked Coats' apology.

"My question is 'What kind of gun was being held to his head when he drafted that statement today?'" Huckabee said. "If there ever was a statement that was a CYA, you just read it from Dan Coats."
