Appearing on MSNBC on Thursday afternoon, a prominent conservative radio host in Iowa issued a frantic warning to President Donald Trump that his trade policies are killing farmers in the region -- which could lead to an "impeach Trump" movement in the farm-belt.
Speaking with host Katy Tur, conservative radio host Steve Deace was asked how Trump is faring in his part of the country after a columnist said he felt farmers were sticking by the president.
"Steve, I read today one Republican senator from a red state said he was concerned because he had seen less Make America Great Again hats when he has gone home," Tur asked. "Are you seeing less Make America Great hats out there or more or the same?"
Noting an awkward Trump appearance with Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds (R), Deace stated things aren't going so well in the state that went for Trump in 2016.
"The look on our governor's face in the video you played a few minutes ago when Trump was trying to spin this to his favor, she had this look,..." Deace replied before trailing off.
"This is the kind of district nationwide that's going to determine who owns Congress or not next year," he explained. "I would be marching up to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and put it to the president and say, 'Hey, I just want to know, I mean, do you want just to have nothing but impeach Trump next year?' The way we are going, we are going to lose seats like mine all over the country and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will be speaker. So, yeah, I do think this is a dangerous time for them, no doubt about it."
