President Donald Trump took the opportunity to brag about his people skills during a July 30 joint press conference with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.

Trump, who famously walked away from the Iran nuclear deal, was asked about the potential for a meeting with that country's leaders.

"I'll meet with anyone," the president replied. "I believe in meeting." He then rattled off a short list of his meetings with leaders such as North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un and Russia's autocratic president Vladimir Putin, as well as what he described as "a great meeting with NATO."

Left unsaid was the larger number of close allies President Trump has angered and alienated, including the president of Mexico, the prime minister of Canada, British Prime Minister Theresa May, French president Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
