Michael Blake, the vice chairman of the Democratic National Committee, shut down a frequent Fox News guest on Wednesday morning for concern trolling him about Democratic candidates.

During a panel discussion on the midterm elections, Republican strategist Brad Blakeman said that Democratic candidates like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would "suck the oxygen out of the room because she is so far to the left."

"Then you have Democrats like you are speaking of who tend to be more moderate, that is the dilemma that Democrats have in the fall. Who are you? Who are you going to be? Are you going to be Socialist Democrats?

“We are going to be not going to jail,” Blake shot back. “We’re going to be avoiding trial, the way you’ve had Gates and Manafort and now Collins.”

Shortly before the discussion news broke that Republican Congressman Chris Collins (R-NY), who was one of President Donald Trump’s first congressional endorsers, had been arrested by federal law enforcement officials on securities fraud charges.

Blake added that Democratic candidates varied from district to district. "The notion of me telling someone what to do in their district is not how [we should be] pursuing this."
