Former Trump aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman on Monday released a new recording of a conversation she had with President Donald Trump on the day after she was fired.
In the call, Omarosa informed Trump that she was told by White House chief of staff John Kelly that the president and others in the White House "wanted me to leave."
Trump, however, insisted to Omarosa that he knew nothing about the decision to fire her -- and he said he was sad to see her go.
"Nobody even told me about it," Trump said. "You know, they run a big operation but I didn't know it. I didn't know that. Damn it I don't love you leaving at all."

On Sunday, Omarosa played an audio recording that she secretly made of White House chief of staff John Kelly firing her during a tense face off last year.
Omarosa claims that she recorded Kelly while the two were in the White House Situation Room, which would be a major breach of proper security protocol if true.
