Charlotte police found weapons of mass destruction while arresting a man for sexually assaulting a minor.

WBTV reported that after Charlotte Mecklenburg Police officers learned that 28-year-old Zachary Richard Gibson kidnapped and sexually assaulted a minor, they got a warrant for seven counts and searched his home.

There, they found the minor — and the "weapons of mass destruction."

Though WBTV did not describe the weapons found in Gibson's home, similar charges indicate that it could be a pipe bomb or similar form of explosive.

Gibson, the report noted, has been charged with "two counts of indecent liberties, first degree kidnapping, felonious restraint, possession of a weapon of mass destruction, statutory rape and statutory sex offense."
