The GOP is eking out a minor win Tuesday, as Republican Troy Balderson remains ahead in Ohio’s 12th Congressional District.
Balderson got a majority of the vote, besting upstart Democrat Danny O’Connor perhaps thanks to a surge following a recent rally on his behalf by President Trump.
It’s unclear if the election will be called or if a legal battle will take place Wednesday morning.
Trump took the district with 53 percent of the vote in 2016, just one-point below Mitt Romney’s performance there in 2012.
The August election was to fill former GOP Rep. Pat Tiberi’s seat.
O’Connor said in a speech Tuesday that he’s ready to go on to November, where he and Balderson will run again.
