Meghan McCain didn't rejoin her co-hosts Tuesday on "The View" after her father's funeral, but Sunny Hostin lashed out at Ivanka Trump on her behalf.
The White House adviser and her husband Jared Kushner attended the funeral Saturday for Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), and Hostin said it didn't matter who invited her to an event that served as a bipartisan rebuke of President Donald Trump.
"I spoke to Meghan about this, I think the invite came from (Sen.) Lindsey Graham," said Abby Huntsman, the former Fox News host in her first day on her new job. "Look, I'm sure they had final approval of everything. If they had it their way, as was evident in the tone of the funeral, they probably would rather not have had anyone from the Trump family present. They still showed up."
Hostin said Ivanka Trump and Kushner, also a White House adviser, were rude to accept the invitation, no matter how it was made.
"They should not have been there," Hostin said. "Who crashes a funeral? You just don't do that. I thought it was shameful that they were there, I really do. I stand by that."
Huntsman defended the couple and other administration officials -- including her own father, Russian ambassador Jon Huntsman -- who serve the president but don't always agree with his statements and policies.
"Maybe she should resign," Hostin said, as the audience began cheering. "Maybe they both should resign. Maybe they should stop making money off the presidency."
