On Monday, Governor Rick Scott (R-FL) was booted out of Mojos Real Cuban restaurant by protesters, reported the Herald Tribune.
Scott, who is running for Senate was visiting Venice, Florida for a campaign stop. However, once he arrived, he was greeted by mass protesters advocating against the states red tide algae issues.
A video posted to Twitter shows proters shouting "coward" at Scott while he leaves out of the back door of the restaurant.
Protesters blamed Scott for the algae bloom and for reducing funding for environmental agencies.
Scott did not speak to reporters on the scene. He faces Democrat U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson in the election.
