After calling out White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders for claiming Donald Trump was "stating facts" when he made fun of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's sexual assault testimony, CNN's Jim Acosta unloaded once more on Wednesday afternoon.

"Obviously they're on the defensive," Acosta told host Wolf Blitzer, "and we've seen why this White House so rarely does press briefings — they're in a losing battle with the truth, it seems."

Sanders, the White House correspondent continued, tried to "sell the whopper" lie that Trump was not making fun of Dr. Ford when he imitated her testimony during a rally in Mississippi the night prior.

"Only the most partisan Trump supporter would argue otherwise," Acosta noted.

He went on to add that the press secretary's performance Wednesday indicated that the White House's "patience is wearing thin."

"They want this confirmation done by any means necessary," Acosta concluded. "Facts be damned."
