An MSNBC panelist took Donald Trump to task for his "ridiculous" lies after the president claimed he never offered to donate $1 million to the charity of Elizabeth Warren's choice if she could prove her Native American ancestry.
"You elect the clown, you get a circus," Tiffany Cross, the co-founder and managing editor of the political diversity website The Beat DC, said Monday. "You're seeing a one-trick pony with these ridiculous, asinine statements coming out of this president's mouth."
During the panel interview with host Nicolle Wallace — who earlier in the segment branded Trump a "pathological liar" — Cross flagged the "interesting" timing of the president's denial of the million dollar offer.
Trump's claim, she noted, came out the same day as news that House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy's brother-in-law scored a multi-million dollar government contract for being Native American — although the man in question is not, in fact, indigenous.
"I'm waiting to see what the president's nickname will be for him," Cross said.
