A sexual assault survivor who backs Brett Kavanaugh told Fox News that the "victim mentality" present in women coming forward with their accounts of rape and harassment is hurting the gender — and that she doesn't believe the Supreme Court nominee assaulted Dr. Christine Blasey Ford.
Kimberly Fletcher of the pro-Kavanaugh "Moms March" group told Fox's Marth MacCallum that rather than feeling emboldened by the onslaught of stories attempting to hold powerful men accountable for assault and harassment, she believes it's harmful.
"I think this idea of creating this victim mentality is actually hurting our girls," Fletcher said. "I decided I was going to be a survivor and a victor. You don't choose whether or not you are victimized, but you do choose whether or not you remain a victim."
MacCallum asked the pro-Kavanaugh survivor whether she found the nominee's first accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, "credible" — and the guest pushed back.
"I think the word credible needs to be investigated a little more," Fletcher said.
"I think she was compelling — she was definitely compelling," the activist continued. "And I do believe there is definitely something that she feels that happened, and it probably -- something probably did happen to her. But the idea that she could say 100% that she knew who it was, but she couldn't answer a lot of the other questions, I think that is something that people need to start talking about.
"The idea that women never lie and men always do, that sets up our men and our sons for some disastrous effects in the future," Fletcher added.
Later in the segment, the Kavanaugh advocate railed against activists like Alyssa Milano for using sexual assault as a "political weapon" and said she asks people wearing "Believe Women" shirts about false accusations.
