In a rare interview, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein contradicted Donald Trump’s repeated insistence that the Russia investigation is a “scam witch hunt.”
“I committed I would ensure the investigation was appropriate and independent and reached the right result, whatever it may be,” Rosenstein told the Wall Street Journal. “I believe I have been faithful to that.”
Trump doubled down on the “witch hunt” comments during a Tuesday morning tweetstorm that also included his now-infamous comment about Stormy Daniels having a “horseface.”
In the tweet, the president expressed exaggerated incredulity over the continued employment of top Justice Department official Bruce Ohr, who he called “a Pawn in this whole SCAM (WITCH HUNT) [sic].”
Is it really possible that Bruce Ohr, whose wife Nellie was paid by Simpson and GPS Fusion for work done on the Fake Dossier, and who was used as a Pawn in this whole SCAM (WITCH HUNT), is still working for the Department of Justice????? Can this really be so?????

In his interview with the Journal, Rosenstein said he was “pleased the president has been supportive” of his efforts to pursue and prosecute Russians’ electoral meddling.
