President Donald Trump lashed out at "despicable Democrats" for pursuing an investigation of sexual assault allegations against Brett Kavanaugh -- as he boasted those claims would energize Republican voters.
The president's tweet Wednesday morning came before senators were provided with an FBI report on the allegations, and after Fox News reported the allegations against Kavanaugh had galvanized GOP voters.
"The harsh and unfair treatment of Judge Brett Kavanaugh is having an incredible upward impact on voters," Trump tweeted. "The PEOPLE get it far better than the politicians. Most importantly, this great life cannot be ruined by mean & despicable Democrats and totally uncorroborated allegations!"
