
Data journalism website FiveThirtyEight released their final 2018 midterm election predictions on Tuesday. The FiveThirtyEight forecast details multiple components that will impact the races.
The data shows that Republicans have an 82 percent chance of holding on to the Senate. It also reveals the Democrats have a fighting chance at winning back the House.
"Democrats have a slightly better chance of winning the House than Republicans do of holding the Senate. Democrats are a 6 in 7 favorites (85.8 percent) to win a majority of seats," the article states.
They also released figures for competitive gubernatorial races happening across the country.
"Democratic gubernatorial candidates are favored to pick up governors’ offices in Michigan, New Mexico, Maine, Illinois, and Florida. They’re also slight favorites in competitive races like Iowa, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Nevada," the article said.
