On Tuesday, CNN's Jake Tapper's revealed that 9 million more people voted for Democrats than they did for Republicans in the 2018 midterms election for the House of Representatives.
Tapper's panel then went on to explain what the Democratic win could mean for President Donald Trump in 2020.
"If you look historically, even more, elections before that, the midterms are often won by the opposing party. And the president can still win re-election, and often has," Jen Psaki, the former White House Communications Director under Barack Obama said.
The panel said that the Trump brand is based on "winning" even when the data shows otherwise.
"A deficit of almost 9 million votes between people who voted for Republicans in the House and Democrats in the House. And the president's unfavorability rating in the Gallup daily tracking is 60 percent in his approval rating. So the president might be on the brand when he talks about how he's winning. He's not," Tapper said.
