Investigative reporter David Cay Johnston told CNN that it was almost certain the Kremlin might have some kompromat on President Donald Trump, and half-joked that the infamous pee-pee tape rumored to be in the Steele dossier "is looking better and better."

Host Brooke Baldwin recalled a previous interview with a former FBI agent who claimed the Kremlin had leverage over the president, and wondered what it could be. Johnston didn't hold back.

"First of all, there's the question of whether there's the tape that exists, that was brought up in the Steele dossier," he said. "Which is looking better and better as more charges are brought and more people around Trump confess to crimes that are connected to Russia."

"It doesn't necessarily have to be blackmail," Johnston added, noting that Trump is "very, very amenable to putting money in his pocket".

"It blinds him to all other considerations," he continued, pointing to Trump's transactional relationship with the Saudis by way of example. "This could be cultivating someone through favors, flattery and money."
