Many believe the political winds in Georgia are shifting after the Democrats swept Senate elections in each of the past two cycles. Others say Republican Gov. Brian Kemp’s reelection win last year shows that the notion that Georgia is turning blue is overstated.
But regardless of which direction Georgia goes on the red-blue political spectrum, all indications are that the Peach State is embracing the green economy, and that the push to make the state renewable energy friendly enjoys bipartisan support, Religious News Service reported earlier this month.
The recent announcement by Meta that it has partnered with a renewable energy company on three large solar projects typifies Georgia’s embrace of renewable energy.
The projects are expected to create local jobs, improve air quality and public health, and bring some unity to a divided country, the report said.

“I think there’s broad bipartisan support in Georgia … for securing energy independence, for ensuring that there is a robust supply of affordable energy that’s not destroying our environment.” Democrat Sen. Jon Ossoff earlier this year told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The report notes that Georgia’s GOP-controlled House backed an measure to expand EV-charging stations statewide by a 161-0 margin.
In Cartersville, considered one of the state’s most conservative communities, a $2.31 billion solar panel manufacturing plant is expected to bring 2,000 new jobs.
During his inaugural address earlier this year Kemp said that by the end of his next term Georgia would become “the electric mobility capital of America,” Politico reports.

A Tennessee Republican leader has survived a no-confidence vote after revelations surfaced that he repeatedly posted on the Instagram pages of a young gay model, among others who identify as LGBTQ.
On Monday, Lt. Gov. Randy McNally’s GOP Senate colleagues by a 19-7 margin voted to allow the embattled 79-year-old to keep his job, which also includes serving as the state Senate’s speaker.
The staunch conservative who earlier this month backed a law that will criminalize certain drag performances has been facing allegations of hypocrisy after commenting and leaving emojis deemed flirtatious by some on 20-year-old Franklin McClure’s Instagram page.
McNally has posted more than 80 comments on McClure’s photos since June 2020, NBC News reports. His most recent comment was on Feb. 26.

McNally has since apologized for his social media activity, indicating he didn’t intend to embarrass his friends, relatives and colleagues, according to the report, and said he plans to pause his social media activity after previously saying “had no intention of stopping.”
“I have always been honored, humbled and grateful for the support of my caucus. I remain so today,” McNally said in a statement Monday. “We have a lot of important work left to do as we complete the legislative session, including the budget. I look forward to getting to it.”
In 2020 he shared a post that implied support for violence against Black Lives Matters protesters, and in 2021 he faced backlash after voting against the removal of the bust of a former Ku Klux Klan leader.

'Probably something you shouldn't do': Alex Jones condemns Donald Trump's call for 'protests'

Disgraced right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones condemned former President Donald Trump's rallying cry for "protests" over his arrest that never happened on Tuesday. Jones explained on Louder with Crowder that he fears that the potential criminal charges that Trump is facing in New York and elsewhere will serve as fodder for the supposed political persecution of Trump's supporters akin to the aftermath of the insurrection at the United States Capitol two years ago.
"Do you think there'll be protests if he's indicted?" host Steven Crowder asked Jones.
Jones replied:
Oh, well, that's – I've got an issue with Trump on that. And I'm not saying he didn't have the right to say it. I'm not saying he's wrong to say it, but I would have said it better. We got set up on January 6th. We know that now. A million people came there. A few hundred attacked the police. The police hit themselves with tear gas, we now have the footage. That's how the first breach happened. But then they waved in the other folks and have put a, you know, almost a thousand of them in jail. It's an American gulag. It's absolutely terrible. And then Trump says, 'take our country back, protest if I get indicted.' Well, you could see then how some people will think take the country back – and then if some provocateurs do something – they can now point right at Trump and say, see, he basically pushed him to do this. So, it does look like he's trying to use the public to push right up to the edge. And I think in this powder keg volatile situation we're in, we don't need to be like the Antifa that just tried to burn down the police station in Atlanta two weeks ago. We don't wanna be like them out shooting people at four-way stops. So, they want violence because they're losing hearts and minds. We don't wanna be like Maxine Waters saying go out and get violent. We wanna be the opposite. I get he's pissed. I get it's wrong. Someday there may be a 1776 issue where things are so bad we gotta get physical, but I think we should exhaust all the remedies first. And I don't think – if there is a violent revolution, it should be randomly attacking police or Capitol buildings. It should be, you know, how George Washington would do it. And I'm not wargaming that here, I'm just saying war, physical war is a very serious issue. And it shouldn't start in some riot.
Crowder added of Trump that "I don't think he wanted" chaos "but like you're saying, he didn't word it, maybe, prudently. There's one thing that's like, hey, protest, you know, protest, make your voice heard peacefully – which he did by the way on January 6th – but this just being in a written post, it'll be easier for the media to paint it."
Jones agreed and again warned of the hypothetical hazards that accompany Trump's rhetoric.
"Well, he's got a lot of power. He's got a lot of power, and it'll allow them to plant provocateurs like Ray Epps again in there to provocateur some hotheads, and so it's like, listen. If you're filling up your tractor with gasoline and if you're farm, do you have a right to smoke a cigarette while you're doing it? Yeah, but it's probably something you shouldn't do," Jones said. "And so, he basically, he's lighting up a cigarette while he's playing with gasoline."
