Breaking down President Donald Trump's capitulation to Democrats after Nancy Pelosi refused to give him one dime for his border wall, a CNN conservative said she treated him like the child he is.
Appearing on CNN's State of the Union, former President George W. Bush appointee Linda Chavez was asked by host Jake Tapper if Trump caved to Pelosi's demands to reopen the government after 35 days.
"I think Nancy Pelosi did win, but I don't know that we're going to see that he actually ends up caving," she replied. "I think he'll come back and do some sort of emergency order to get his wall."
"But he, you know, he underestimated her, and she proved that a mom knows how to handle a 2-year-old brat, and that's the way the president acted," she offered to laughter from the panel.
Democratic strategist Paul Begala jumped in to lavish sarcastic praise on Trump, quipping, "He united progressives, he alienated moderates, and he betrayed conservatives -- that's a trifecta. It's very hard in America to do all three at the same time, so I congratulate the president."
"He also empowered Pelosi," Tapper suggested.
