Late-night host Stephen Colbert trolled President Donald Trump during his Monday show, by sifting through his recent Twitterstorm.

"The stress seems to be getting to him a little bit," Colbert said of the president's shutdown.

"I just watched a Fake reporter from the Amazon Washington Post say the White House is 'chaotic, there does not seem to be a strategy for this Shutdown. There is no plan.' The Fakes always like talking Chaos, there is NONE. In fact, there’s almost nobody in the W.H. but me," Trump said in his first tweet.

The host found it particularly hilarious that Trump was saying no one was in the White House but him.

"Because the government is in shut down, numbnuts," Colbert shot back.

He then took on his horrible yet hilarious Trump persona:

"You know, I'm the captain and people say the Titanic is sinking," he joked. "But there is almost nobody left on the boat! They say it's World War 3 but I'm looking out my window and it's very quiet in those smoking craters out there."

"And I do have a plan on the Shutdown," Trump tweeted. "But to understand that plan you would have to understand the fact that I won the election, and I promised safety and security for the American people. Part of that promise was a Wall at the Southern Border. Elections have consequences!"

When Colbert read the second tweet, he found the line "elections have consequences" to be particularly poignant. "He's right, he's right, elections do have consequences. And her name is Speaker of the House."
