MSNBC host Kassie Hunt was able to speak briefly to Speaker Nancy Pelosi about President Donald Trump's latest proposal for a "downpayment" on the U.S-Mexico border wall.

According to Hunt, Pelosi said she didn't think the idea of a downpayment "would be a reasonable arrangement" at this time.

Trump told the press late Thursday that he hadn't heard from Pelosi over the course of the day. Thus far, the House has passed a total of 10 bills that the president could choose from. Any of those could be sent to the Senate for passage if Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) brought them to the floor.

Trump also told reporters in a brief statement that Pelosi was “reasonable” to say no to the State of the Union address until after the government reopens.

“It’s really her choice,” he said.
