President Barack Obama's former campaign manager trashed President Donald Trump's cabinet for being filled with wealthy old white men during an appearance on MSNBC's "Deadline: White House" with Nicolle Wallace.

The host played a clip of Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross saying he couldn't understand why furloughed government workers needed to use food banks during Trump's shutdown.

"This is ten stations past out of touch," Wallace explained. "That is cruel, that is despicable. What is wrong with them?"

"They haven't ended the shutdown because they truly don't care," she said. "I think it is also a despicable lack of humanity. "

"Eighty percent of people live paycheck to paycheck," explained former Obama campaign manager Jim Messina. "This out-of-touch jerk has no idea."

"And let's be honest, it is just another bad part about having a cabinet that looks like the bar scene from Star Wars. These people are nut jobs," he added.

"Whiter," Wallace interjected.

"Whiter and much older," Messina agreed.

"It's not the bar scene from Star Wars, it's the bar scene from Caddyshack," suggested New York Times reporter Nick Confessore.
