On Wednesday, CNN contributor Joan Walsh called out President Donald Trump for insisting that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is a "puppet" to House Speaker to Nancy Pelosi. She said that Trump was only revealing his "sexual insecurities" as a man.
In response to Pelosi canceling Trump's State of the Union address, the president ranted about her leadership to reporters. Trump said that Pelosi was "dominating" Schumer.
"He doesn't use words randomly. He looks like he does, he never is," CNN host Erin Burnett said.
Burnett then played a video of Trump talking to the press where he said: "I think that Chuck Schumer sadly is dominated by the radical left and he's dominated by Nancy Pelosi, very strongly he can't move. He's a puppet, he's a puppet for Nancy Pelosi."
"Puppet and dominated are not random words," Burnett said.
"He is projecting wildly. He is trying to emasculate Chuck Schumer. Chuck Schumer is man enough to know he needs to stand by Nancy Pelosi. She knows what she is doing. There is no daylight between Schumer and Pelosi," Walsh said.
"They are doing this correctly. But the president is showing us his own sexual insecurities by saying something like that about Chuck Schumer. It's kind of gross. But we expect no different," Walsh said.
