Donald Trump continues to purge undocumented workers from his golf courses: report

Published

on

As President Donald Trump continues to threaten another federal government shutdown, the commander-in-chief’s golf courses continue to fire undocumented workers, The New York Times reports.

Earlier in the month, The Times reported that the Trump National Golf Club Philadelphia — which is in Pine Hill, N.J. — concealed from the Secret Service the existence of undocumented workers.

“The club in Pine Hill, N.J., known as the Trump National Golf Club Philadelphia, was the third Trump property where undocumented workers have been fired since The New York Times reported in December that the Trump club in Bedminster, N.J., for years employed immigrants who were in the country unlawfully,” the newspaper explained.

As part of Trump’s efforts to get Congress to pay for a border wall, he has sought to portray undocumented immigrants as a crisis — a claim undercut by his employment practices.

“The revelations about the undocumented workers has been an embarrassment for the Trump Organization, coming to light as Mr. Trump has railed against illegal immigration, blamed undocumented immigrants for crime and pledged to build a wall along the Mexican border to keep more people from entering the country unlawfully,” The Times noted.

Eric Trump, the president’s second son, has complained it is “truly heartbreaking” that the press is reporting on Trump’s hypocrisy.

President Donald Trump's defense attorney is not only a subject in a criminal investigation, but is also part of a counterintelligence probe into whether he was compromised by a foreign power, CNN reported Wednesday.

This is an investigation that goes far longer and back further than we realized and also that it’s much broader than we initially thought," CNN senior justice correspondent Evan Pérez reported.

"One of the things we’re getting a picture of, a better picture of is this involves not only Giuliani’s financial entanglements with allegedly corrupt Ukrainian figures but also counterintelligence angle is there to this and the idea that perhaps Rudy Giuliani and some of his business dealings were part of essentially an influence operation, a foreign influence operation with a target being the Trump White House," he reported.
