The Daily Beast's Jackie Kucinich said Monday that how President Donald Trump reacts to Congressional testimony from his former fixer Michael Cohen will boil down to how his favorite television news network takes the news.
Kucinich made the remark during a broader discussion of how Trump's trip to Vietnam, which coincides with Cohen's testimony. CNN reporter MJ Lee had said that "what would be most newsworthy" about Cohen's appearance would be its impact on "the president's mental state", and whether it would "simply infuriate him" while he was abroad.
"I think it will be directly proportional to how credible Michael Cohen seems at this hearing to how infuriated the president will be," Kucinich said. She said that one indication of Trump's reaction would be if Republicans were able to "tear him down in a way."
"And also how it's taken in Fox Newsland, frankly," she added. "Because that's who the president listens to and how it reflects back to him."
