The chairwoman of the Republican National Committee lashed out at the press on Saturday.
RNC chair Ronna McDaniel issued a “media bias alert” and specifically attacked MSNBC’s coverage.
“On Friday, when the [Robert] Mueller report was completed, ISIS’s last stronghold in Syria was also eliminated,” McDaniel claimed.
“Since then, MSNBC has not covered ISIS’s defeat for a single minute, refusing to acknowledge this huge win for [President Donald Trump] and the world.”
After McDaniel lashed out at MSNBC for not covering the accomplished mission in Syria, a number of people pointed out that NBC News crew was involved in bomb attack — in Syria.
“We are thankful that NBC employees escaped unharmed, however one of the local drivers working with them was tragically killed,” NBC News President Noah Oppenheim said. “Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and loved ones.”
McDaniel subsequently received a great deal of criticism for her attack on MSNBC.
Here is what some people were saying at the RNC attacks.

Hey Knucklehead, the NBC crew was attacked and their driver killed. Perhaps you should go search for your name and lay off the Twitter finger.

An IED exploded next to the NBC crew in Syria today, killing their local driver.
So yes, they may have filed less reports today than on Friday. https://t.co/3RYBftc1hw

Tone deaf and wrong as always. You're the perfect spokesperson for this corrupt party. RIP those lost trying to cover the war and keep those in danger safe.

Literally today the NBC crew **IN SYRIA** had a bomb go off near them and their driver was killed. https://t.co/QrMHr84Xfa

Their journalists were attacked in Syria. What is wrong with you? Did you have a moral compass that you lost or have you always been this craven begging for attention? Trump didn’t win anything. Our military fought and died so you can claim victory from his crappy golf club.

NBC News President Noah Oppenheim: “Earlier today, a device exploded in the vicinity of a group from NBC News in Syria. We are thankful that NBC employees escaped unharmed, however one of the local drivers working with them was tragically killed." https://t.co/WLVLmjGxxv

An apology to the families of Americans injured in this incident might be a good political and human move

Maybe they were too busy mourning. https://t.co/KF0YVd9I59
