On Tuesday, CNN's Chris Cuomo grilled Former Bush Attorney General Michael Mukasey over special counsel Robert Mueller's report.
Mukasey noted that the report said Trump and his team did not criminally conclude with Russia in 2016.
However, Cuomo noted that he was "skipping a big point." Cuomo explained that Trump was not indicted because sitting presidents are not able to be indicted.
"He didn't say that about a sealed indictment but he said I want to be fair to the president too. You should read and decide for yourself but Mr. Barr decided to end this. He didn't have to. That's not in the book. He could have left it alone. You can't indict a sitting president. He didn't need to tell us that," Cuomo said.
"They can't indict him. That is the opinion from the OLC so there's nothing to decide on that level. It's purely political," Cuomo added.
"Mueller left it dangling out there and when you have evidence going one way and evidence going another way you don't indict," Mukasey, an avid Trump supporter said.
"Except you can't indicate, and I don't know why you are ignoring that," Cuomo said.
