David Lapan, former spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security under President Donald Trump, slammed White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders over her lack of transparency.
Sanders has been scrutinized for her relationship with the press. Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report revealed that she knowingly lied to reporters. She also has held very few press briefings.
Pundits dragged Sanders after she held a mock press briefing on "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day 2019." She has not conducted a formal press briefing in nearly 45 days.
Lapan slammed her for lacking basic communication skills.
"The sad irony is that US service members & civilians spent years and $ teaching Iraq's government and military officials about the importance of communications, media relations, and the need to engage the press. They progressed, 'we' regressed," he tweeted.
