Republican lawmakers say they are struggling to understand why President Donald Trump is attempting the unpopular feat of dismantling President Barack Obama's health care reform law.

CNN's Lauren Fox spoke to GOP legislators who said that Republicans had hoped to take a "week-long victory lap" after the Trump campaign was exonerated in connection with Russian election interference but Trump's Obamacare gambit derailed the celebration.

"There is a lot of angst about this whole health care bulls*** we are dealing with," one Republican congressman told CNN. "But you aren't going to hear members say, 'WTF Mr. President, what the hell did you do that for?'"

But according to Fox, Republicans aren't ready to give up on the president yet.

"But as much as Trump can keep them guessing, he's as accessible as any President they can remember," Fox wrote. "Ask members if Trump is likeable, hard to stay mad at, and most respond without hesitation, absolutely, yes."
