President Donald Trump's Sunday morning tweet complaining about the "best horse" not winning the Kentucky Derby due to disqualification by the racecourse stewards was greeted with disbelief and derision on Twitter -- as well as a reminder that the 2016 election also had a poor result.

On Sunday, Trump blamed "political correctness" for the loss by favorite Maximum Security, tweeting: "The Kentuky Derby decision was not a good one. It was a rough and tumble race on a wet and sloppy track, actually, a beautiful thing to watch. Only in these days of political correctness could such an overturn occur. The best horse did NOT win the Kentucky Derby - not even close!"
