The father of the man accused of fatally shooting Ahmaud Arbery lashed out at the victim in body camera footage captured after the shooting.

The testimony came as Glynn County Police Officer Jeff Brandeberry read a transcript of the footage.

"'To be perfectly honest with you, if I could have got a shot at the guy, I would have shot him myself," Vice News reported Gregory McMichael said.

Prosecutor Linda Dunikoski also asked the older McMichael about how he characterized the victim at the scene.

"How far away were you from the dead body of Ahmaud Arbery when he called him an asshole?" Dunikoski asked.

"Twenty, 30 feet maybe?" Brandeberry replied. "Maybe a little further than that."
